Photography Evaluation
In photography we did several projects being low light
photography, triptychs, the David Hockney six fame arrival of spring
photography and stop frame photography.
In low light photography we took photos in a darkened studio
environment with the canon 5D camera we worked with a partner to produce some
photos. Throughout the lesson a few things went well others did not go so well.
The things that went well were the photos as they came out quite nice and I
also learned that lighting is not everything and in low light photography you
can get a great photo. The thing that did not go so well were again some of the
photos though most of them are good a few are a little to bright and next time
I will try to not make some of the photograph to bright.
In the triptych photography we took photos of the head, body
and the feet we used the canon 5D camera and also worked with a partner to
create the photograph and then put them in to Photoshop to attach them together
to form the complete photograph. I think this lesson went quite well in some
photos the lighting is a bit messy but for the most part the photos came out
rather well. What I learned from this lesson is how to use Photoshop
effectively to create a photo from three different photographs to create a
triptych picture. What I could do better for next time is make sure that the
lighting is correct before using the image.
In the David Hockney inspired six fame arrival of spring
photography we went outdoors to beautiful location with a partner to take six
photo of the same area starting from top left of the area to the bottom left
but in a grid of six and then we arranged them in the same way starting from the
top three photos to the bottom three photos to create our own version of what
David Hockney had made in the past.
We used a canon 5D camera to take the photographs and a
tripod. It was a fun lesson and it went rather well. The things that went well
were the photos that came out rather nice and using Photoshop to attach them
together. The thing that did not go so well was the fact that some area we
photographed we could not get low enough so they looked like six photos in a
line instead of three in a line on the top and bottom of the grid. In this lesson we learned about David
Hockney’s pictures that were painted and photographed and using Photoshop to
make a photo in a six photo grid and angle it in different ways. What I need to
improve upon next time is pick some better locations.
In stop
frame photography we went out side with six cameras and set them up in a way to
make a grid so we could take photographs with each of them to make it look like
a grid photo. We went to many different locations just off of the ferry bridge,
starting from the sports field moving to some logs then a totem of sorts and
then to a small bridge. The whole class was involved with this lesson. We did
encounter a problem in the lesson, which was that two of the cameras ran out of
batteries so we hat to only use four cameras for a few minuets. We used canon
5D cameras to take the picture in the lesson. The lesson did go quite well
despite a problem with two of the cameras, I think the photographs went quite
well. What did go wrong was the problem with the camera battery life because
after the first two died there was worry that the others will die as well.
The project I liked the most was the David Hockney
photographs because I like going out in to the world to look at nature and this
lesson got me outside to look at more plant life and take photos of them to
create a nice image it was a fun lesson.
